About me
Sarah Holloway
I’m Sarah, and helping people through life’s harder moments is what I love to do.
I work hard to see things from your point of view, so the support fits you, and together we work towards the goals that matter to you.
My approach
I work in an integrative way, one to one and with couples, drawing on CBT, solution-focused therapy, imagery and relaxation. I also teach practical tools you can use in day-to-day life.
My experience
I have worked with children, adolescents and adults: in private practice, in schools, with a local mental health charity, and in areas such as bereavement and addiction.
Safe hands
I am supervised by a qualified clinical supervisor, hold a current DBS certificate, and am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice.
Counselling
Counselling in Oakfield
My aim is to help you through emotional and personal difficulties, and to find a way forward that works for you.
I offer a confidential space to explore and work through situations and issues, and to understand your thoughts and feelings in a relaxed and informal way, so that you may live with more confidence and enjoy a more fulfilled life.
One to one
Counselling for adults, in my therapy room in Oakfield, or by video or telephone. Sessions are 50 minutes, or 80 minutes if you prefer.
Teenagers
I work with adults and teenagers, and I have worked as a counsellor in secondary education. My clients range from teenagers to those who have retired.
Couples
For couples when communication is difficult or the relationship feels stuck. We begin with an initial session that includes a pre-assessment.

Complementary therapies
I am a qualified Counsellor, Counsellor Supervisor, Hypnotherapist, Meditation Teacher and Reiki practitioner.
Reiki
Reiki (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy’, a gentle system of natural healing open to any belief system. You stay clothed and relax on a couch or chair while I place my hands in a series of gentle positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. Many people find it deeply relaxing. Sessions take 45 minutes to an hour and a half.
Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis. If you are concerned about symptoms, please see a doctor.
On requestplease ask when you call
Past Life Regression
Have you ever felt you ‘remember’ a place you have never been, or known someone you have only just met? Or are you simply curious? Using a combination of hypnosis and visualisation, we go on a journey to explore a past life. Each journey is individual.
£90per session
Hopi Ear Candling
An ancient, mild and natural therapy. You lie on your side in a comfortable position while I hold a candle over your ear as it gently burns, with a pleasant slight suction and warmth, then repeat on the other side. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes and finishes with a mini face massage.
A complementary therapy, not a cure. Not suitable if you have a perforated eardrum, an ear infection, grommets or an allergy to the candle ingredients.
£25including mini face massage
I also teach meditation in my therapy room in Oakfield.

FAQs
Frequently asked
If your question isn’t here, you’re welcome to ask me on the free call.
What happens on the free call?
If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, the free 20-minute call is a chance to talk it through and ask anything you like.
How long will I need counselling?
Counselling may last from one session to several sessions, maybe some months or even longer. The review in week 7 helps us decide together.
Is counselling confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the foundations of counselling. Information is only shared:
- with your knowledge or consent
- if there is a serious concern about your safety or the safety of another person
- where safeguarding responsibilities require it
- where the law requires it, including a court order
- in professional clinical supervision, fully anonymised
What happens to my information?
Your information will never be sold or shared for marketing purposes. Paper records are kept in a locked filing cabinet and electronic records on password-protected devices.
Counselling records and brief clinical notes are normally kept for three years after therapy ends. Telephone numbers and email addresses are generally deleted about a month after our work ends. You can ask to see, correct or erase your information.
What if I’m unwell before a session?
Please let me know at your earliest opportunity, and I can offer an online or telephone session instead.
